SCHOOL APPAREL
Art had always been just a hobby. It meant very little to me until I became the one creating it for others. And for almost three years now, I have used my graphic design skills to create clothing for my school (Saint Stephen's Episcopal School). Not only has apparel been one of the main utilizations of my skills, but is also the very source of my passion for graphic design.
SENIOR
CLASS SPIRIT SHIRTS
This is where it all began. As Sophomore Class President, my class officers and I were tasked with creating our grade's spirit shirt. It was a daunting task, but after several rounds of designs, we settled on a chemistry-themed shirt. Since everyone in the grade was taking a chemistry class by requirement, we thought it was fitting to make a periodic table with each person’s initials representing an element. Not only was the shirt a hit among teachers and students, but a whole new world of graphic design had opened up for me.

I had a lot of ideas for the Sophomore shirt. A movie poster. Roman numerals. I made a new version of our school logo (falcon). Played around with different fonts. Traced out a map of our school campus. So many designs and so much playing around. But a lot of these ideas did not go to waste.
SOPHOMORE
JUNIOR
One of my favorite ideas from the Sophomore shirt design process was a license plate idea where each letter was taken from a different iconic Florida license plate. I ended up revisiting this idea when it came time to make the Junior shirt. And with now a whole year of experience with graphic design I recycled and improved on the idea.
The license plate idea was even better this year because it was also the year many of us would begin to get our driver's licenses. We found another design that would unite our grade just like our chemisty shirt did.

My final class shirt. The end of where it all began. I wanted to create a shirt that people would continue to wear even after they graduated. A shirt that we could look at and remember our high school experience.
In order to do this, I knew that I would have to use everything I had learned in the past few years. So that is where I began. I started by looking back on old designs and graphics. Which is when I stumbled across many of the ideas that I had made for the Sophomore shirt. Even though I made them when I was just learning, I loved them all. And then I realized why not use all of them? All of the significant designs that not only I liked, but the whole highschool.
These designs had defined and represented sports teams, grades, and moments in our twelve years. Our past spirit shirts. My two redesigned Falcon logos. The Shake Pit wall designs. A map of our campus. A playground set. The city skyline.
Additionally, a significant tradition and privilege of the Senior class shirt is personalized shirts with nicknames. This was the final touch to the shirt. An aspect unique to everyone but tied in seamlessly with the other facets of our experience that unify us. I could not be more proud of how this shirt turned out.
SSES WEIGHTLIFTING
After designing the Sophomore class shirt, I was approached by the weightlifting coach. The weightlifting team and program was newly established and the girls' season was approaching. Coach Erik wanted to design a team hoodie and logo that was different than the official school logo. A logo that stood out and brought the team together. The hoodie was a success and became a staple for both the boys' and girls' teams. And even though it was their first year, the girls' team brought home the district title. And another one the next year. Both times I would design their champion shirts (and now in 2025 I just made their three-peat shirt). I would go on to make several other designs for the teams and strength and conditioning program.
A major task for the class officers is fundraising. Whether it be for the dances we plan our our senior class gift, each class is encouraged to raise money throughout the year. Our class officers came up with the idea of a clothing fundraiser. With the winter season rolling around and a new dress code allowing hoodies, we saw it as the perfect opportunity; and it was. I gained immense knowledge and experience in the logistics and finances of managing a fundraiser at such a scale. I also had the opportunity to learn about the significant impact of marketing and advertising.
